SEO - search engine optimization for a website is like the human backbone, just like the backbone SEO gives a website the ability to stand in the search rankings.

Since 2005, I have been doing SEO for a number of clients and many times this same questions comes up "What do you do in SEO ?".
Well, SEO is not black magic. For me it is common sense, doing every thing the right way, in a way that the search engines can rank our website / web pages at a top position in the search engine result pages or SERP.
Starting SEO for a website.
When you start doing SEO on a website, the first thing to remember is to check the health of your website, ask you self this question "is my website ready for SEO ?", and the answer is NO, your website needs to have certain basic aspects before it can go out and compete with the other superior websites.
Things like correct Meta Tags, Robots Files, Sitemaps, Keywords, URLs, Anchor Tags must be implemented before you can even start your SEO effects.
